MISA Group is proud to announce the launch of our new web series Mining Innovations in Motion, entirely dedicated to the technology companies that are transforming—right here in Québec—the way we operate, analyze, and plan mining activities.
Through this original series, MISA Group gives a voice to SMEs and startups that are innovating at the heart of real mining operations. Automation, advanced mineralogy, data intelligence, robotics, and connectivity are central to these inspiring stories.
Today, we are releasing the first three episodes, highlighting projects developed through the Vortex Journey – IoT Chapter in collaboration with visionary Québec companies.
Mining Innovations in Motion aims to reveal the technological innovation taking place within Québec’s mines. Each episode explores a concrete project, from the initial idea to deployment in the field, highlighting the expertise, challenges, and lessons learned from the entrepreneurs shaping the industry’s future.
This series is intended for mining decision-makers, technology developers, researchers, students, and anyone interested in understanding how applied innovation contributes to a more efficient, safer, and more sustainable mining sector.
This first episode focuses on the development of an autonomous utility vehicle designed specifically for the needs of both underground and open-pit mining. The ARLYX project demonstrates how robotic autonomy can enhance productivity, reduce risk, and support workers by automating repetitive or hazardous tasks.
LithologiQ presents its automated mineralogical analysis technology, which is revolutionizing how geological data is obtained, processed, and interpreted. The episode explains how this innovation improves planning, reduces analysis delays, and supports more informed decision-making for mining teams.
At the core of this story is data. Neuromines Connex reveals a technological architecture designed to connect, organize, and leverage data flows from various equipment and systems. This episode shows how a mine becomes truly “smart” when it can rely on integrated, reliable, and actionable information.
Because mining innovation is not limited to laboratory R&D. It happens on the ground, in collaboration with mining teams, suppliers, experts, and technology companies who experiment, adapt, and deploy real solutions.
This series highlights the impact of the Vortex Pathway and demonstrates Groupe MISA’s commitment to supporting a mining ecosystem that is:
By showcasing the successes, challenges, and lessons learned by these companies, Groupe MISA hopes to inspire other industry stakeholders to pursue their own innovation journey.
In the coming months, new episodes will feature additional Québec companies contributing to the evolution of the mining industry, including: ELEMISSION and Geothentic.
